Michael Ryan was elected Chair of Irish Stammering Association at May’s Board meeting. Michael has been involved with ISA since 2009. He is keen to meet with members of the association and will be visiting support groups around the country over the next 12 months.
Michael served as Mayor of Templemore Town Council and has been raising the profile of stammering with public representatives. Earlier this year Michael presented in Dáil Eireann with ISA colleagues Veronica Lynch and Jonathon Linklater to highlight the work that the association carries out.
Michael and the Board would like to thank Veronica Lynch, outgoing Chair, for her considerable efforts with Irish Stammering Association. Veronica has been instrumental in establishing many services, notably the Parents’ Support Network and ISAYiT! drama group, as well as overseeing and taking part in events such as Caint gan Eagla and National Stammering Awareness Day.
David Heney takes over as ISA’s Vice Chair and continues in his role as Company Secretary.
