Caint gan eagla – Talk without Fear 2012 took place last weekend and it was great to see adults, youngsters and parents represented as well as Speech & Language professionals.
Attendees were treated to presentations from a wide range of speakers including Life Coach Ann Flaherty who explained the concept of ‘Flow’ and a session on Mindfulness from James McCormack (psychotherapist). Other speakers included Sarah McCormack who gave a personal account of stammering and ISA Chair Stephen Greene who told us about ISA’s work and strategic plan. We also had a a mythbusting session with Veronica Lynch and Speech and Language Therapist Jonathon Linklater talked about those F words… Fear, Fluency and The Future.
Breakout sessions in the afternoon for adults, parents and youngsters allowed for people to share experiences and ideas.
Feedback on the day from those attending was positive and ISA will be looking at the feedback in some detail in order to make next years Caint gan Eagla even better .
A big thank you to all those who organised the event, presented, helped out on the day and, of course, thank you to all that attended for helping to make the day a success.
