My book review of "When the Stammer Came to Stay"

Written by Maggie O’ Farrell and illustrated by Daniela Jaglenka Terrazzini

This is a story about two sisters who share a bedroom. One of the sisters gets a stammer and is super embarrassed about it. Everyone’s stammer is different, but this girl’s stammer appears as a small cloud snatching the words out of her mouth! With the help of her sister, she realises that if she’s kind to her stammer it would not be as mean to her.

I liked this book because it was a super nice story about someone who realises that they have a stammer and that it wasn’t as bad as she thought it was! It really helped me see that stammering really isn’t as bad as you might think it is. Even when it feels like it’s the worst thing ever!
