This podcast is brought to you by, and in association with, the Irish Stammering Association. The ISA provides information and

support for people who stammer in Ireland. The aim of this podcast is to provide the listener with an insight on stammering through an Irish perspective. The podcast hosts, Bevin, who is in her early 20s, and Stephen, who is in his late 40s, have both stammered for most of their life. Alongside exploring and chattingabout their stammering experiences with each other, they also interview a new guest each episode.

Both have been involved in the ISA for a long time and each of them have a huge passion for the organization. The reason for this is because they have experienced the good that the ISA can do for people who stammer. They both believe that having a space in Ireland for people who stammer to come to when they need information or when they need support is imperative and they hope that this podcast will be another addition to the stammering community within Ireland.

The topics discussed throughout the podcast series, of which there are six episodes, range from the definition of stammering, what supports and services are out there for people who stammer, a teenage perspective of stammering, debunking stuttering myths, being a parent of a child who stammers and the idea of stammering comedy.

One of the stand-out things about this podcast is that from the onset, the listener is presented with two very different perspectives; a young female’s perspective and an older male’s perspective. But one commonality that Bevin and Stephen share is that their goals for the podcast are the same; to get the listener to understand and accept that being a person who stammers is nothing to be ashamed of and to also provide ‘a place for the listener to go so they don’t feel alone.’
